Capsule Wardrobe
"What even is a capsule wardrobe anyway? Simply put, it means curating your clothes so that many outfits can be made out of them. What this looks like often differs from person to person as we all have our own tastes and different lifestyles. So, why bother with a capsule wardrobe? ⬇︎
👗 Save the hassle - worry less about what to wear because you’ll already have an idea of what’s in your wardrobe and how to style it.
💷 Save money - you automatically save money because you don’t have to keep buying items to complete a specific outfit. It also makes you think twice about if whether you really want something!
🏠 Save Space - fewer clothes means taking up far less room in your wardrobe, then you can store everything in one place and have less clutter in your home.
🌳 Save the environment - you’ll avoid impulse purchases of cheaply made garments that won’t last long. Instead, you’re more likely to invest in quality clothing that can last a lifetime! Washing machines exist for a reason!
How do you build a capsule wardrobe?
Think of what clothes you already wear on a regular basis and why you like them. It could be how comfortable they are, the colour or your type of lifestyle. Now, consider the different ways you could wear these clothes. We recommend opening up your wardrobe and literally holding up pieces against each other. You’ll see what you like and what you don’t naturally. 👔
This doesn’t mean you have to immediately throw away all your clothes, it just means that you allow yourself to slow down and be more creative with what you already have.
If you really want to get the most out of your newly emerging capsule wardrobe, YouTube and Pinterest are great places to get free styling tips and tricks. And not to toot our own horn, but we love sharing wacky ways to pull an outfit together from preloved pieces. ♻️
